Veterinary Technician – Emergency Department (Swing / Overnight)

ACCESS LA is one of the largest, most advanced, and progressive veterinary multi-specialty groups in So Cal. Our hospital includes Avian & Exotics, Cardiology, Emergency, Neurology, Soft Tissue Surgery. Unique to ACCESS LA, we also offer advanced orthopedic surgery in our nationally renowned Bone and Joint Center, 4 full-time Critical Care specialists to support our ICU, interventional radiology in Internal Medicine, and our Nephrology department offers the first and only fully functional hemodialysis unit in Los Angeles. We are searching for motivated Emergency Veterinary Technicians to join our exceptional team at ACCESS Animal Hospital Los Angeles. From bee stings and bite wounds to the most complex, life-threatening traumas our 24×7 Emergency department is there.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Assist the Emergency department in the triage of patients according to their illness severity.

Administer subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications and understand potential adverse effects of medications

Set-up, monitor, and administer intravenous fluid therapy including constant rate infusions and blood transfusion therapy

Be trained to properly perform all aspects of CPR

Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot oxygen cages and other oxygen administration techniques

Perform advanced vascular access techniques including jugular catheter placement, sampling line placement, central line placement, intraosseous catheterization, and arterial catheterization

Collect samples and perform diagnostic tests including in-house & point-of-care tests and diagnostic imaging
