Dow has an exciting job opportunity as a Maintenance Mechanic Technician located in Bristol Croydon Operations, PA.

The candidate has the primary responsibility to execute maintenance tasks in a safe, efficient and effective way according to the job plan and procedure.

Responsibilities:
• Review the job package and check if work can be carried out safely and according to the job package.

• Assures that all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment indicating safety, health and environmental considerations and control measures to prevent contact or exposure.

This information can be documented in the hazards and precautions table, the control measures block, or can be referenced in other documentation such as the EMETL standard, PPE Grid, MSDS or equivalent.

• Obtain the work permit.

• Perform the task for the job package
• If significant additional problems are identified during the job that may need a new work order, thoroughly investigate the source/cause of the problem according to the value-added work process
• Complete the work and return equipment to operations
• Assist in the analysis to ensure the problem is corrected
• Complete input for updating (MAINS/Engineering files etc.)
• Apply the skills of respective trade/craft/discipline in executing maintenance work
• Leverage trade skills to apprentice and other maintenance associates.

• Assist in the development of Maintenance Work Procedures
• Feedback information on job package quality and Root Cause Analysis data as required
• Document/record history
• Assist in maintenance planning
• Follows job plan to complete work
• Follows standard work procedures where available
• Each Dow and contract maintenance person is expected to: Create a field procedure when a procedure does not exist, following the Site/Plant Non-Existent Procedure Process.

Initiate procedure updates as improvement opportunities are determined.

Participate in procedure audits as requested.

Review procedures as required.

• Clearly indicate the status on the procedure when transferring responsibility for the procedure Transfer to another group or shift Demonstrate proficiency in his/her discipline/trade technology
• Identify requirements to complete emergency work
• Assist field planner in planning jobs in his/her discipline as requested
• Use established Maintenance procedures
• Provide input towards the development of Maintenance procedures
• Access procedures on electronic document management system (EDMS)
• Provide feedback on quality of job package
• Collect history data
• Discipline/Trade technology
• Content of the job package
• Safe work, practices & procedures
• Global Maintenance Work Process
• RCA process
• Approve maintenance information systems
• How to collect history data
• Maintenance procedures by discipline
• Complete all applicable required training,
• Be listed on the plant’s approved authorized procedure user matrix (or equivalent) and
• Follow the plant’s requirements for being an authorized procedure user.

Required Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Millwright, Pipefitter or Mechanic in a maintenance industrial space.

• Willing to work over time, and take off-hours call ins.

• Must be 18 years old or older.

• Must be willing to work weekends, and holidays, if required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.

• Must have a current, valid US driver’s license.

• A minimum requirement for this U.S.

based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.

No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S.

permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiar and capable of using the following: high torque, regular torque wrenches, hand tools, experience with rotating equipment, gear boxes, laser alignment
• Prior experience using SAP preferred.

• Prior experience with valves, fittings, gaskets, piping, hardware, hand tools, tubing, threading machine, spool pieces, and isometric drawings preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Good interpersonal skills are required.

• Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.

• Demonstrate leadership skills
– inspire others and lead them through influence.

• A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

• Must be able to comprehend written instructions accurately.

Physical Requirements: Must be willing and able to do the following with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes
• Wear and use respirators.

• Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.

• Frequent/occasional lifting of material weighing approximately 50 lbs.

• Work in tight or closed-in spaces.

• Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.

• Stand or walk for extended periods of time.

• Our safety equipment has weight restrictions.

To qualify, you must be able to use standard safety equipment which is rated for someone who weighs 300 pounds or less.

Education:
• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Journeyman’s millwright, machinist, pipefitter, and/or mechanic is preferred.
