Quality Technician

We are seeking a Quality Technician for our CSP Stamping Plant in Manchester, Michigan.

SUMMARY: While adhering to safety, quality specifications and customer requirements, inspect, test, sample, or weigh nonagricultural raw materials or processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications.

May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.

Each piece is inspected individually after all processes have been completed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Audits internal processes, performs tests, and inspects products as well as develops, compiles, and evaluates statistical data to determine and sustain the quality and reliability of products produced Using engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts and /or defined plans to perform complex engineering testing, first article inspections.

Selects products for audits at specified stages in the production or post-production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and/or cosmetic characteristics Perform calibration of inspection tools e.g.

micrometers, calipers height gages etc., when Gage Technician is not available.

Send gages out for calibration, maintain calibration records when Gage Technician is not available.

Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.

– Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following 5S, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsible for quality of part produced per the operator instructions.

Know, understand, utilize, and follow IATF 16949 and/or ISO 14001 procedures.

Attention to details related to customer specific requirements.

Support continual improvement initiatives and look for continuous improvement ideas.

Supports and exemplifies corporate values and commitment to quality, optimism, ownership, teamwork, and communication.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: At least two years of experience in quality and process control in automotive parts manufacturing.

Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, IATF 16949 and/or ISO 14001 procedures.

Must be computer literate in the Windows Office environment (Word and Excel) and in using the Internet.

Must be able to understand information gathered from meters, dials, calibrated scales, and visual display units.

Have a strong attention to detail and know customer requirements for each automotive part.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred or an associate degree with at least two years of relevant work experience.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
