In this position, you will provide technical support for PAPI Service in Process Automation Process Industries (PAPI) in Chillicothe,Ohio, delivering superior, professional service, remotely or on site.

Reporting to the PAPI Service Midwest Region Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of ABB pulp and paper quality control products at customer facilities.

This includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of ABB hardware and software, as well as assisting with any projects, upgrades, new installations and advanced services for the technician’s assigned customer or region.

You will be required to work independently as well as part of a site team to provide service.

Your responsibilities Maintain ABB systems.

This includes but is not limited to; cleaning debris from sensors, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues with the frame and sensors, troubleshooting and repairing the computer system and operator stations which can also include networking equipment.

Training on ABB products and services will be provided.

A basic understanding of mechanical and electrical theory and safety is highly recommended in order for the training to be beneficial Handle customer service related issues while fostering the customer relationship and working to solve technical problems on site.

Deal directly with and communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management, third party vendors and other ABB personnel in support of service operations A rotating schedule for 24 hour emergency support service requests Accurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility.

Professionally document work completed on preventive and corrective maintenance When required, play an active role in various projects such as upgrades, new installations or new functionality for customers.

Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments Your background Associates Degree in a field relating to the same area of qualifications or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation, networking systems or process control related work experience Military electronics or electrical programs may be considered equivalent to this typical qualification Experience or a special combination of education and experience with demonstrated accomplishments will be considered Comfortable using hand tools and electrical test equipment Demonstrate mechanical aptitude Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US Benefits Retirement plan Life insurance Medical insurance Disability insurance Wellbeing program More about us Process Industries division delivers complete electrification and automation solutions, industry-specific products and lifecycle services across industries.
