Together, we’re pioneering the future of science and medicine, developing products that enable researchers in the fight to save lives.Production Technician I – Column PackingThis position is responsible for manufacturing a variety of different HPLC columns; will require excellent organization, good time management, and attention to detail.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES* Proficient in packing different sorbents in column hardware in one of the primary packing labs:* HPLC: HPLC, Gemini, Heat, Semi-prep techniques required* Coreshell: Coreshell, plus either K5 or SGU techniques required* GPC: prepping and packing GPC media, plus conversions* Axia: packing and troubleshooting Axia columns* Follow written instructions (SOP) for all critical processes* Follow all Safety procedures, including wearing appropriate protective equipment* Prepare packing solvents and slurry solvents according to written instructions* Material verification and Inspection* Data entry in TSA and AX computer systems* Schedule time efficiently to complete work (production cards) in order of priority* Keep all work areas, equipment, and tools neat, clean, and organized.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:* High School diploma required* Ensures all work is accurate and free of errors / defects* Requires analytical thinking and problem solving* Attention to detail, pay specific attention to tasks* Strong organizational skill, plans and assigns resources in a detailed fashion* Typically less than 2 years of experiencePHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate; higher level of noise may be prevalent in laboratories or warehouse settings. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to travel or work necessary overtime.SAFETY:Assists in the creation of a culture of safety and environmental protection by performing work safely in accordance with company and departmental safety procedures. Work may be exposed to hazards or hazardous materials requiring use of personal protective equipment to prevent exposure. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor.
