Join our Global Network Operations Command Center Our Platform & Reliability Engineering team collaborates across our organization to ensure the performance of our global content-delivery platform.
We ensure our platform operates safely, reliably and adapts based on customer demand.
We establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators, make configuration changes safely and oversee and operate over 300k servers in Akamai’s global network.
Make the internet work You will develop and execute systems and processes to monitor and maintain Akamai’s network.
Working as part of a collaborative global team you’ll gain exposure to unique, large-scale networks.
Youll continually learn and develop your troubleshooting and deployment skills on some of the most complex network technologies in the world.
As a Senior Platform Operations Technician you will be responsible for: Monitoring and troubleshooting Akamai’s 24/7 platform, network traffic, threats and alerts Working in collaborative internal and external cross functional teams to achieve timely resolution of platform affecting issues Administering automated software deployments to the distributed platform to maintain and ensure stability and security Ensuring platform issues are clearly tracked, updated and documented Participating in a 24/7 network operations center shift-schedule and following operations center workflow procedures Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: Have 2 years of relevant experience Demonstrate experience of Linux/Unix system administration and good knowledge of SQL and Scripting languages Be experienced in network technologies and internet protocols such as TCP/IP, WAN and DNS Display solid experience of administering, monitoring and resolving issues in a high availability platform environment Be a team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in an ever-changing environment Have excellent communication and written skills to articulate technical information to internal teams and external customers Work in a way that works for you We recognize that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best can vary for each person.
This role requires some aspects of the job to be performed in an Akamai office every week.
