The Patient Safety Technician will be responsible for providing support to the patient care team as well as attending to safety needs of the patient. Provides constant observation for patients via electronic telesitter system. The Patient Safety Technician will communicate with team members in a timely manner about his/her observations of the patient‘s needs and activities. Maintains established departmental/hospital policies, procedures, objectives, Performance Improvement and Patient Safety standards. Participates in a safe, patient-centered care environment with quality patient care delivery and effective communication with the healthcare team.

  • Basic organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills including the use of Windows and Mouse
  • Demonstrated team member abilities
  • Ability to follow directions as outlined in policies or given by supervisor

Required Experience

Required:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • LA City Fire Card within the first 6 months of employment

Preferred:

  • Minimum (1) year hospital/healthcare experience as certified nurse assistant, unit clerk, or Medical Assistant
