Our studio film franchises have redefined the genre in building a universe filled with creativity, innovation, and collaboration.As part of the Motion Picture Labs at Walt Disney Studios; you will be joining a group of seasoned, dedicated technologists solving a range of interesting problems in innovative ways in an exciting and dynamic environment.The Motion Picture Labs is looking for a Data I/O Technician to facilitate and manage the transfer and organization of the production footage shot on set and created internally.

You will work with the Productions, Studio, and Vendors, to facilitate the data transfer of our footage, to and from all the various locations.

And communicate with Marvel & Disney productions (Producers, Post-Supervisors) providing status updates and offer solutions for remote shooting locations.

You will report to the Manager, Motion Picture Labs at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA.Responsibilities:Manage LTO data ingestion of production material.Setup, monitor and troubleshot Signiant and Aspera file transfers.Work with productions to setup the data transfer pipeline to the Studio.Work with VFX Vendors to setup the data transfer pipeline to deliver files from the Studio to the Vendors.Monitor and help troubleshot internal VFX, Render Farm, Finishing pipeline process.Manage and organize multi-petabyte local storage.Create, document, and monitor workflows for data management.Collaborate with Developers and Engineers to build a global data management infrastructure.Assist Plates Lab Tech’s and Data Wranglers as it pertains to receiving and distributing media.Create and support test environments relating to data management pipeline development.Troubleshoot data workflows with Dailies, VFX, and Finishing lead technicians.Basic Qualifications:BA/BS in Computer Science or related equivalent experience.

MA/MS preferred.5+ years exp.

developing within a theatrical, streaming, or similar post production environment.Experience developing across multiple platform environments (Linux, Windows, or OS X)Deep understanding of data distribution platforms such as Aspera or Signiant.Familiarity with modern databases and IT systems.Detail oriented, proficient at digesting and analyzing large data sets.Strong user-facing skills, with the ability to understand and react to changing user requirements.Experience with TAR, LTFS, LTO archive tools.Cloud storage knowledge and skills with AWS, AZURE, and Google.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with Image Processing for Motion Picture Productions.Practical experience distributing large datasets for a post house facility.PERL, Python
