Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer w/ Active Clearance to support our Advanced Program efforts in Northridge, CA.Roles and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Working on the Conceptual Design for Next Generation weapon systems.
Will apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts in design of mechanical systems.
Contributes to the developmentof new principles and concepts.
Design and modeling of complex 3-D geometries.
Design and application of high temperature materials.
Fabrication processes for the full product life cycle from prototyping to full rate production.This position can be filled as a Mechanical Design Engineer (T02) or as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (T03).
The basic qualifications for both levels are listed below.Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.Basic Qualifications: Basic Qualifications for a level 2 (Mechanical Design Engineer) are:1.
Current/active Secret clearance or higher.2.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.3.
2-4 years of related experience in mechanical design.4.
Extensive CAD experience.5.
Working knowledge of structural and thermal analysis tools and techniques6.
Ability to obtain Special Program Access as required.Basic Qualifications for a level 3 (Principal Mechanical Design Engineer) are:1.
Current/active Secret clearance or higher.2.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.3.
5-8 years of related experience in mechanical design.4.
Extensive CAD experience.5.
Working knowledge of structural and thermal analysis tools and techniques6.
Ability to obtain Special Program Access as required.Preferred Qualifications:1.
Current/active Top Secret clearance.2.
Pro-E Creo CAD.3.
