Overview The Diesel Mechanic will troubleshoot, repair and maintain all of the site’s mobile equipment used in an underground and surface mining environment.
Equipment includes (but is not limited to), drills, bolters, haul trucks, graders, dozers, tractors, light vehicles, forklifts etc.
Responsibilities u2022 Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activitiesu2022 Perform routine hours-based services on mobile equipment.
Includes lubrication servicing and scheduled fault repairsu2022 Performs various welding and fabrication tasks and has the ability to weld independently as directed by supervisoru2022 Read hydraulic schematicsu2022 Competently troubleshoot hydraulic systems, test hydraulic components, and repair the problems and componentsu2022 Make hydraulic hosesu2022 Read electric schematicsu2022 Competently troubleshoot vehicle low voltage electric systems, test electric components, and perform repairsu2022 Diesel engines: general engine troubleshooting and repairsu2022 Drivelines: general troubleshooting and repairs on converters, gearbox’s, differentials & wheel endsu2022 Perform tire changes on all rubber tire equipment on siteu2022 Familiar with accessing equipment information using electronic devices (e.g., laptop computer, tablet)u2022 Performs data input as required for inventory and cost control trackingu2022 Complete required maintenance work orders, reports, and logsu2022 Use of measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, etcu2022 Quality checks and testing all equipment repairs as applicableu2022 Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplaceu2022 Maintain and clean company and personal tools utilized to perform the worku2022 Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations.
