Maintenance Technician / Millwright

Job Description and QualificationsAir Products, manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking a high energy, self-starter to fill a Maintenance Technician / Millwright.

This position primarily supports our 8 large HyCO plants in California along with 8 smaller facilities throughout the US and as required, will support all our facilities in the US and Canada.This is a residence-based position with the preferred area located within 1
– 2 hours driving distance from either the northern or southern California facilities.You would be expected to respond to Operations requirements on a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week basis.

Generally, technicians average 60-65 hours per week, and they travel away from home about 75% of the time.

All tools and PPE required for this position will be provided.Duties:Perform and/or supervise routine and breakdown inspection, repair, troubleshooting, modification, installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment to include but not limited to reciprocating, centrifugal and screw compressors, cryogenic pumps, gear drives, steam turbines, fans and blowers, vessels, heat exchangers, reciprocating and centrifugal expanders.Develop work scopes for equipment repair and overhaul.Work within SAP to create and edit notification and work orders, search for and issue spare parts to provide accurate documentation on equipment and information.Provide the necessary technical leadership to continuously improve machinery condition and reliability.Provide technical on-site and remote training and guidance to individual plant operating and maintenance personnel, facilitating their role as the primary equipment maintenance support.Prepare and provide technical reports.Qualification:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum five years of experience with in industrial maintenance or as a millwrightExperience with crane signaling and riggingSupervisory experience is a plus but not requiredBasic computer skillsSAP knowledge is desiredAbility to work in an industrial environment that includes climbing ladders and stairs, lifting up to 50lbs, working at heights and in confined spacesAbility to travel on short notice and work extended hours, typically 12hour days when in the fieldAble to work in a team environment with safety as a primary focusAbility to communicate effectively with technical, operations and maintenance teamsAt Air Products, we work in an environment where diversity is essential, inclusion is our culture, and each person knows they belong and matter.
