Essential Functions of the Job: Use diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturers specifications to repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
Use hand tools, power tool and precision measuring and testing instruments to diagnose and complete repair, replacement and commissioning of equipment and machinery.
Observe mechanical devices in operation and diagnose faults and breakdowns using aural, visual and instrument-based methods.
Perform scheduled maintenance, diagnose and identify malfunctions, and inspect/repair/replace defective or worn parts.
Overhaul and test major components such as hydraulics and electrical systems.
Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment components.
Program machines/equipment for jobs using CAD/PLC interface.
Develop training documents and complete training of new operators on various machines/equipment/processes.
Assists engineers with designs and creates, tests and manufactures machinery and other equipment.
Applies knowledge of engineering technology normally under the direction of engineering staff.
Work is more limited in scope and more practically oriented than that of engineers.
Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.
Test and inspect machines and equipment in manufacturing departments or work with engineers to eliminate production problems.
Identify and lead initiatives to improve safety conditions, increase productivity and reduce costs within manufacturing operations.
Interface with equipment and material suppliers to improve existing machine capabilities.
Coordinate with equipment manufacturers for successful build and release of new equipment/machinery.
Travel to customer and supplier worksites when necessary.
Support production functions as needed.

Proficiency with shop tools and diagnostic equipment.

Experience and Education: Mechanical Technician certification preferred Experience with CAD software preferred 5 10 Years of hands on experience in mechanical maintenance Proven ability to work with minimal supervision Excellent Customer Service skills Working Conditions: Exposure to hot / cold climate while working Ability to stand, sit, crawl, bend, twist and lift to 50 lbs.
