Maintenance Mechanic II

SCOPE The Maintenance Mechanic II performs routine warehouse equipment maintenance, as required.

The Mechanic also coordinates with warehouse operations and communicates directly with the Maintenance Supervisor regarding equipment maintenance, repairs, and other maintenance services.

ACCOUNTABILITIES Performs specialized maintenance and repair of material handling equipment such as conveyors, carousels, waves, forklifts, scissor lifts, electric pallet jacks, stock pickers, heat sealers, tape machines, and any other equipment, as assigned.

Monitors periodic maintenance programs to ensure compliance.

Offers solutions for problems.

Closely monitors and follows-up on assigned requests for repairs.

May collaborate on projects with other mechanics and may assist in training less experienced mechanics.

Assists with space planning and manages work station reconfigurations.

Communicates in a professional manner with staff, management, and outside contractors demonstrating a positive attitude across the organization.

Supports and participates in the company’s quality management system.

Works with minimum supervision and makes independent decisions.

Notifies direct supervisor if a piece of equipment is going to be down for any length of time.

Considers safety needs, follows safety rules, reports safety concerns.

Performs all work in adherence with safety procedures.

Wears protective equipment when required.

Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.

Must have good attendance and be able to work outside scheduled shift, when needed for unplanned or emergency repairs.

Job Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent.

3 years of experience preforming similar tasks preferred.

Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, grasp, push and pull for long periods of time Able to maneuver in aisles 36″ wide.

Able to reach, lift and carry products weighing up to 40 pounds.

Able to read and understand labels and instructions on cleaning products, etc.

Able to be trained and operate Mouser motorized equipment.

Possesses an advanced knowledge of several maintenance trades in order to repair the more complex problems associated with these items; must be able to troubleshoot, research parts in catalog or online, place orders when needed/authorized.
