Lead Renovation Technician

Position Summary: The Lead Renovation Technician (LRT) at Matrix Construction Services is primarily responsible for self-performing a defined scope of work under the direction of an assigned primary Renovation Superintendent.

The expected schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with the possibility of overtime and weekend work as required to meet client deadlines.

*Currently in our busy season, hours may vary up to 7am-7pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures quality control & safety enforcement meets company and client expectations Working knowledge of scope and ability to work independently once given direction Possess required skill set to self-perform scope related work and punch items as directed by Renovation Superintendent including but not limited to: Demolition of existing FF&E Light carpentry Cabinet installation Electrical fixture installation Plumbing fixture installation Drywall repair and paint Appliance installation Haul debris to assigned disposal location Maintain clean working environment Follow all safety requirements Other duties as assigned by Renovation Superintendent Assist Renovation Superintendent in inventory management of on-site materials and submitting order need requests to Renovation Superintendent, Renovation Area Manager, or Resource Coordinator, as directed.

Assist Renovation Superintendent in staging and receiving bulk and kit material deliveries at on-site storage areas and units Material runs for Will Call and Queued sundries at local suppliers Daily communication with on-site Renovation Superintendent Accurately records all work hours and break periods via the written and/or electronic means provided by the company

Requirements & Preferred Skills

Valid Driver’s License

Reliable transportation

Maintains all tools to safely perform required scope of work

Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners, to include residents of apartment dwellings

Ability to effectively coordinate on-site staff and logistics coordination with the support of a Renovation Superintendent or Manager

General trade level skill set relative to assigned scope

Education Minimum: High School degree or equivalent

Minimum Experience: 3 years on-site construction management and/or remodeling experience,

Preferred Experience: Apprenticeship Programs, Trade Schooling, or Verifiable Relevant Experience

Preferred Language skills: Good Oral and Written Communication Skills
Physical & Mental Abilities Required Physical: The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, climb stairs, use hands and arms, talk or hear, drive a vehicle, and use basic office electronics (computer, telephone) Mental: critical thinking, judgment, decision-making, follow-up, social awareness, mathematics, reading, writing, organizational, timeliness, stress tolerance, communication (oral and written)

Work Environment & Travel
100% of the job involves self-performance work to be completed independently or within a team environment.

Routine vehicle travel within the local geographic service area.
