Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician – VNY

Job Description Salary: DOE Summary: This individual will provide leadership to a team of technicians.

They will provide technical assistance and labor for any and all problems associated with aircraft repairs as well as coordinate with the aircraft maintenance supervisors to ensure a safe and efficient repair and timely return to service of the aircraft.

Responsibilities:
– Ensure tasks assigned by Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor are carried out by the team in an efficient manner
– Communicate with customers as to status of aircraft maintenance
– Coordinate with parts department to ensure that all materials are in stock or on order to complete the project on time.

– Open work orders and build maintenance books as required
– Provide inspection support as authorized by Chief Inspector
– Perform inspections, maintenance and troubleshooting of aircraft systems
– Ensure all customer aircraft are maintained in accordance with the procedures outlined in the applicable Aircraft Maintenance Manual and customers General Maintenance Manual
– Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety
– Maintain and/or repair shop facility, equipment and tooling to support operations.

Qualifications (Experience & Education):
– High school diploma or GED
– Must have own tools necessary for the job
– Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills in the English language
– Have at least 5 years of relevant experience working in a Part 145 environment, Part 135 experience is a plus
– 3 years of extensive experience with Gulfstream, Cessna, Embraer, and/or Bombardier aircraft
– 2 years of supervisory experience
– Factory or aircraft specific training preferred
– Ability to manage high stress situations, sometimes multiple situations
– Experience in the use of maintenance reference materials including Manufacturer’s Maintenance Manuals, Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Component Manuals, etc.

– Experience using CMP and CAMP maintenance tracking programs a plus
– Exceptional communication and customer service skills required
– Must be proficient in the operation of standard office equipment and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
– Drivers License with no major infractions required
– A&P License required
– High school diploma or GED
– Excellent time management and organization skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
