Job Description: We are looking for a meticulous Instrument Management (IM) Technician to be responsible for the decontamination, inspection, and assembly of complex surgical instruments.
The IM technician’s responsibilities include retrieving contaminated instruments and preparing sterile instrument trays for surgeries.
To be a successful IM technician, you should be meticulous with strong attention to detail.
You should have a good working knowledge of a variety of sterilization techniques and be able to work with complex surgical instrumentation.
IM Technician Responsibilities: Collecting contaminated instruments.
Manually cleaning instruments of contaminants, removing bioburden, and operating and maintaining decontamination equipment.
Preparing and packing clean instruments and trays for sterilization.
Examining instruments meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned.
Sterile Processing Technician Requirements: A High School diploma or equivalent and certification in sterile processing and distribution.
A clear background check and proof of up-to-date immunizations.
Strong attention to detail, vigilance, and meticulous care on the job.
Passion for keeping people safe.
Good judgment and critical-thinking skills.
Manual dexterity and the ability to handle complex instrumentation.
Technical skills and familiarity with sterilization techniques.
The ability to work well in a team or independently.
