Located in Tucson, AZ Job Description: Mechanic IMMEDIATE HIRING MECHANIC Full-Time Opportunity We’re hiring a fleet Mechanic who provides preventive maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles as assigned by Fleet Manager.
Responsibilities: Perform front line mechanic inspections, preventive maintenance and electrical repairs on both diesel and gasoline vehicles per Rural Metro Fleet Policy and Procedures Respond to vehicle breakdowns in the field when requested Complete all required vehicle repair and maintenance paperwork and documentation using Rural Metro repair work orders and Rural Metro Fleet Maintenance Software (RTA) Respond promptly to road calls, accurately diagnose, and perform quality repairs Thoroughly document vehicle repairs and maintenance including a complete accounting of all labor hours, parts, and materials used Provide excellent customer service and maintain a respectful working relationship with all fleet and operations personnel; display professional conduct with outside suppliers and contacts Identify and report existing and potential safety concerns to Fleet Supervision Minimum Required Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education Must have four years of verifiable experience as a Class C
– Associate Mechanic, and automotive knowledge and skills necessary to perform maintenance and repairs on Company vehicles ASE and/or EVT Certifications strongly preferred Must have a current and valid Arizona driver’s license Must have a full set of personal tools needed to complete basic automotive repairs: Rachets: 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″ Drive Sockets: SAE and Metric, Standard and Deep Extensions: Short, Medium, Long
– 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″ Drive 1/2″ Drive Impact Wrench that can R &R wheels Combination Wrenches: 1/4″ thru 1-1/8″ and 6MM thru 24MM Screwdrivers: Flat blade, small/med/large & Phillips, 0, 1, 2 Pliers: Channel lock, long nose, linesman, wire strippers, crimpers Punches: Straight, Center Punch, chisels Hammers: Ball pein, dead blow, soft, sledge Pickle Forks Oil Filter Wrench Test light, LED (Power probe or similar is fine) Multimeter: Voltage-OHMS-AMPS Mechanics Toolbox on Wheels Why Choose Rural Metro?
