Ground Service Equipment Mechanic

Worldwide Flight Services is looking for Mechanics, Service Technicians, and Specialized Technicians.

Pay varies depending on experience and education.

The work of this mechanical classification includes the following: troubleshooting, disassembly, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, assembling, installing, servicing, fabricating, or towing any ground equipment while in service or while undergoing an overhaul and/or modification.

Certifies for quality of workmanship, including signing mechanical releases on fieldwork.

May be assigned to order, receive, inventory, secure or disburse parts and supplies on or off-airport facilities.

May have other maintenance personnel assigned to assist in completing an assignment.

Works according to Company regulations and procedures and instructions from lead, supervisor, or general manager.

Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures and will communicate with other Company personnel as required in a manner designated by the Company.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The work environment/physical requirements described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job:

Technicians work in the secured baggage handling areas, in repair stations, or on airfields.

They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.

Workers frequently bend, stoop, and reach from ladders and scaffolds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

The employee frequently lifts and/or move items over 50 pounds with the help of teammates.

They will be lifting parts and tools for extended periods of time and handling equipment such as conveyor systems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts, and vibration.

The environment can also be loud because of aircraft engines and equipment.

Required Experience

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a High-school diploma or GED.
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of documented training and/or job experience in the areas of welding, machinery, electrical, and/or pneumatics.
Valid have a valid (not expired or suspended) CA driver’s license
Must be able to work rotating shifts including weekends (ie.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays, and days off.

Ability to read and work from diagrams as required.
Paint and body experience preferred.
Diesel experience required.
Must possess minimum established Company tool requirements.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language and be understood by others.
May be required to possess Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) depending on assignment.
