Job Description Job profiles, non-exempts Analytical labs Bayport Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented Experienced Analytical Lab Technician to join our Albemarle Bayport facility.
This position will be responsible for testing samples received into the Delivery team BARQN group.
The responsibilities expand into performing routine laboratory techniques that yield quality data for our customers while operating analytical instruments.
The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, efficient time management and communicates effectively as well as 5 years of relevant job experience.
` Characteristics Key Focus Carry out analytical tests on catalysts and oils, in particular operate the various GCs, ICPs, spectrophotometers, and similar instrumentation Collect and track control sample data for quality assurance purposes Document data and make it accessible to customers Communicate with customers on priorities, delays, results, and other issues Collaborate with colleagues who work on the same equipment Troubleshoot equipment Accountabilities Analytical procedures are executed according to the SOPs to guarantee consistency Work is scheduled according to priority as communicated to maximize efficiency Routine maintenance and calibration of instruments are done to ensure minimal downtime; instrument manufacturers are contacted for maintenance issues as needed Communication with customers, management and colleagues is proactive Housekeeping of the lab is exemplary and work is carried out safely All corporate, legal and safety policies are adhered to Responsibilities Operate the ICPs, GCs and other instrumentation (i.e.
UV-Vis, NMR) and perform various oil analyses Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of instruments Evaluate control samples to validate data and troubleshoot the processes Use Laboratory Information Management System Communicate with customers to keep them informed and educated Perform the administrative tasks associated with the analyses Perform general tasks in the lab as assigned; i.e.
sample management, etc.
Actively participate in the safety and good housekeeping programs of the site and BARQ/R&D Requirements Bachelor of Science in chemistry or a related field and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience Prior lab experience, ideally with one or more of the following instruments: GC, ICP, HPLC Proven affinity to learn software from various instruments Proficient in MS Office, previous LIMS system usage Customer oriented Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs Choose to unlock your full POTENTIAL.
