ER Technician

 Job Description 

Mission Community Hospital, a 145-bed acute care facility located in the San Fernando Valley, is currently Recruiting #2 Full-Time, Evening/Day & Night Shift EMT positions for the ER Unit.  

Job Summary 

The ERT performs services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of a licensed nurse. Specific areas of responsibility include monitoring of patient vital signs/pain, providing patient hygiene and comfort measures, assisting with procedures, fulfilling nutritional needs and observing/reporting patient behaviors. The ERT also assures that the rights of the patient/family are respected and maintained. He/she demonstrates the ability to safely and competently use equipment in the provision of department services per scope of practice. 

This position will be primarily working with an acutely ill through rehabilitating adolescent to geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and/or developmental age of the individual served.  

General Job Requirements, Certifications & Knowledge 

• Current California Emergency Medical Technician Certification 

• BLS 

• MAB Certification – within 30 days of hire 

• Advanced MAB – within 60 days of hire 

Minimum of 1 year ED experience or two years full time EMT experience in emergency response & patient transport. 

• Good communication skills
