Engineering Technician

Adecco is currently assisting one of our clients in the San Fernando Valley looking for an Engineering Technician for a temporary assignment.  If you feel you qualify please apply.
The Engineering Technician will perform technical tasks, normally under direction and supervision of an Engineer or Professional Qualified Manager, contributory to the planning and execution of engineering projects
Responsibilities for this Engineering Technician position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop comprehensive process work instructions and associated documentation (forms)
  • Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights language that sets our users up for success
  • Develop and maintain detailed databases of appropriate references
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement, such as macros-enabled spreadsheet for ease of process data collection
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various technical resources to understand project requirements
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
  • Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise, and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage
  • Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organizational and regulatory standards, i.e., AS9100, internal document controls, and allow for easy data migration
  • Develop content in alternative media forms, i.e., hard copy, digital, for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation
  • To be considered for this Engineering Technician, you should:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field.
  • 2-4 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer
  • Proven experience in a highly technical field, such as engineering or research and development, ability to evaluate and analyze complex information
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience working with engineering to improve user experience
  • Excel visual basics a plus
