VCA Animal Specialty & Emergency Center is a high volume, AAHA accredited, state-of-the-art specialty referral and 24-hour critical care hospital located in West Los Angeles.
A little bit about us:
As one of LA’s leading 24-hour specialty animal care centers, we offer six specialties under one roof and employ nearly 200 staff members…there are always plenty of opportunities to grow and advance your skills here.
Routinely hosting externs, interns, and residents helps us maintain a positive and supportive learning environment and keeps our medicine and techniques up to date.
Having been in business for more than 30 years, we manage to maintain a fun and friendly workplace while practicing the gold standard of small animal medical care.
All of that combined with paying competitive pay rates which align with the job market as well as each applicant’s skills and experience level, and offering a full benefits package, has allowed us to keep more than half of our ASEC family on board for over 10 years.
“I have worked at several hospitals, but I have never felt so welcomed by a team as I did when I first started working here.
From management, to the doctors, to my coworkers
– everyone has been so warm and willing to help in way that I needed.
Now that I have been here for a while, I can see why.”
A little bit about our Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) Team:
Our ECC and ICU departments are equipped to provide 24/7 care to incoming critical and non-critical emergencies, as well as transfers from our referring veterinarians, and hospitalized patients from our own specialty services.
With multiple criticalists, senior clinicians, and interns on our ECC team, we can manage a diverse caseload with ease.
The ingredients to our stellar ECC support team include doctors’ assistants, technicians’ assistants, RVTs, and VTS(ECC)s.
And the glue that holds it all together, the ECC leadership team, is made of Shift Leads, Supervisor(s), and one very hands-on ECC Dept Manager
This team thrives on collaboration and support from one another.
Quality patient care comes naturally when everyone has each other’s backs and is open to giving and receiving constructive criticism willingly..how else are we supposed to learn, right?
Our goal is to continue to add new team members who feel the same way!
