Cinema Lens Service Technician – Panavision Hollywood

The Lens Service Technician is responsible for servicing and repair the lens.

Work in conjunction with other departments and immediate coworkers to provide technical support to our clients and Panavision staff.Key Responsibilities:* Efficiently service and repairs lenses to Panavision’s high standards.* Troubleshoot lens problems as they arise.* Supply hand tools necessary to perform jobs.* Maintain a neat and organized work area as per health and safety standards.* Responsible for documenting and updating all service and repairs performed in Pinnacle.* Sends daily service log to key staff members.* Act as a technical liaison between clients and marketing.* Act as technical interface for production crews.* Anticipate client needs.* Provide technical assistance to our clients in house, via telephone or by travelling to their location to trouble shoot and solve their technical problems.* Assist other Panavision employees with technical issues.

Answer questions and give advice regarding proper usage of our equipment.* Train co-workers and educate clients on current* Participates in weekly Departmental meetings.* Other tasks and assignments as required.Skills/Experience Required:* Proper use of hand tools, shop fixtures, and materials.* Set call procedures and etiquette.* Understanding of Panavision’s health and safety requirements.* Effective communication skills.* Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.* Ability to work with small, delicate parts and precision assemblies.* Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical and operational problems.* Ability to interact with clients and co-workers and answer technical questions.* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

on a regular basis.* Ability to multitask and remain flexible towards changes in scheduled duties on a daily basis.* Ability to work on own initiative without constant supervision.* Ability to work under pressure with strict time constraints, yet maintaining high performance standards and output.* Flexibility to work overtime as needed.Preferred but Not Required Experience:* Working knowledge of specifications and applications of lens inventory housed at Panavision.* Basic understanding of optical theory.* Lens mechanical operation, service and repair procedures.* Trained eye for discerning lens performance on projector and collimator.Work Environment and Physical Demands:This job operates in a warehouse environment.
