Have knowledge of building automation software, the capabilities to learn new systems and controls, be a team player who is cooperative and supportive that will meet customer expectations.Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:Have the ability to operate building automation software and controls.Interpret control drawings, plans and specifications to test programs.Point to point checkout, startup, and commissioning on assigned projects.Utilize hand tools, laptops, and test equipment on site.Analyze problems and resolve issues to ensure the overall system functions properly.Responds to customer service calls (emergency, on-site, or online), checks indicated points of trouble, analyzes requirements of the system involved, and checks and tests systems components.Performs preventative maintenance on mechanical systems, electrical components and automated process controlsPerform diagnostics on the automation system, process controls, mechanical devices, electrical systems, and components.Perform calibrations, on temperature sensors, flow meters, and pressure devicesTests and verify system readings ensuring optimal system operation.Completes service repairs, replacements, upgrades, adjustments, and calibration on automation systems and components.Completes and submits written service orders and reports covering all aspects of each assignment and activity.Provides technical support, and direction to end-users and employees when applicable.Assertive and decisive when handling problematic situations with customers.Additional Functions and Support:Use hand tools, measuring instruments, and other equipment necessary to perform the job.Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.Work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial equipment as neededPerform other duties as assigned within a team-oriented environment.Support all departments as neededWilling to work overtime as neededOperating Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesTraining & Education Requirements: High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience.Demonstrated a positive attitudeCommercial HVAC trouble shooting skillsProficient with test meters and understand wiring diagramsAble to work with computers, automated controls, and their associated operating systems, as well as control theory and conceptsMust possess a valid state driver’s license.Experience Requirements: Minimum two (2) years experience as an HVAC Controls TechnicianOther Qualifications & Physical Requirements: Must pass a criminal background check, physical exam, and drug screen.Must be capable to ascend/descent ladders and stairs for completing daily tasks.Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted.Reporting Relationship: Project Manager and Maintenance SupervisorABM (NYSE: ABM) is a leading provider of facility solutions with revenues of approximately $6.4 billion and over 130,000 employees in 300 offices deployed throughout the United States and various international locations.
