Broadcast Services Technician III

Job Purpose: Prepare, monitor, and maintain all technical systems related to the production studios and broadcast transmission systems within the broadcast center, as they apply to DTVE events and initiatives.

Duties:
Ensure that all operational and technical goals are met.

Assist management in maintaining DIRECTV corporate policies, while creating a positive and productive work environment.

Assist in implementing and maintaining a professional security administration policy for all technical systems and sub-systems including hardware and software access.

Provide consistent and accurate written daily status reports to the department supervisor.

Maintain various inventory and maintenance logs.

Perform routine technical assignments for Tech Services and Engineering departments.

Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and implement/direct corrective action to resolve issues.

Act as the primary escalation and service point Technical Directors, Ingest/Editors, and other DIRECTV departments and Program Providers.

Create the documentation and manage various construction projects within the DTVE environment through completion.

Coordinate maintenance needs and requirements for the department.

Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and act as a subject matter expert on various processes, work flow and equipment within the studio, Audience Network MCR and machine rooms.

Perform routine maintenance and documentation as needed within the DTVE environment at the LABC.

Software and hardware installations as necessary.

Maintain various technical video and audio systems in the production areas.

(Tape Machines, Video Switchers, Conversion Systems, Audio Consoles, Router, Video Servers, Character Generators, Multi-viewers, Cameras, Lighting Systems, Intercom systems, Telephone systems, Automation Systems, News Run Down system (Dixon and iNews), and others as needed.)
Assist departmental supervisors as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum of five years technical experience in a digital broadcast environment.

Excellent written, verbal, and time management skills.

Windows and Macintosh proficiency at an administrative security level.

Self starter and highly motivated to implement and support technical solutions and solve problems.

Willingness to adhere to and adopt DIRECTV specific policies and procedures.

This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the United States.
