#TheFutureIsBuiltHere #ChangeTheWorld Within BR& T, Boeings Communications and Sensing Technology (CaST) group performs design, analysis, prototyping, and testing of innovative communications and sensing systems.This position is part of the EO/IR Mission Systems team within CaST.

The focus of this team is to design cutting edge sensor systems, and the key technologies that enable those systems, to support both Boeing and its external customers.

Systems range from airborne EO/IR systems to space payloads.

The team is focused on providing complete solutions, including systems engineering, optics design, algorithms, software development, firmware development, and electronics.

As part of BR& T, the primary focus is on prototype systems and demonstrations, so were looking for people who like to try new things, and arent afraid of a challenge!

We are seeking mechanical engineers in Huntington Beach, CA with experience in the development of design and analysis of mechanisms for space and airborne systems consistent with requirements and specifications for military/aerospace or other safety-critical systems.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.

Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Post start secret clearance is required Position Responsibilities: Lead the design and analysis of mechanisms for space and airborne sensor systemsLead the mechanical design for prototype sensor systems and sub-systems, including design, analysis, integration, and testLeads and provides technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical systemsLeads activities to validate and verify mechanical requirements, including design and trade studiesSupports proposal preparation and new business development efforts.Plans and leads research projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet future sensor needs for Boeing and its customers Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry3+ years of experience with mechanisms for space and/or airborne applications Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Active security clearanceExperience in the design and development of EO/IR sensor systemsExperience working on research and development or prototype programs Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
