Back Office Technician /Optometric Assistant
Performs a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Prepares patients for examination and assists other optical professionals in providing treatment to the eyes.
Correctly summarizes and documents what the physician during an examination.
Charts the examination documenting additions to the chief complaint, assessment, and recommendations for treatment.
Collect and document the patient’s chief complaint.
Verify the patient’s ocular, medical, and medications health history
Basic Visual Acuity (VA) assessment.
Intraocular pressure (IOP) test with a Tonopen unit.
Topical ophthalmic and dilation medications.
TFundus photos.
Visual Field (VF) test.
Flourescein Angiogram (FA) procedure.
Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICG) procedure.
Refraction.
Required
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
At least one (1) year of medical experience.
Preferred:
COA or COT
Experience in the Ophthalmic or Optometric Industry.
