Job Description Salary: DOE Jet Edge is currently looking for an Avionics Technician will perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, removal and replacement of aircraft instrument and avionics components and systems in accordance with manufacturers specifications, FARs, industry standards and Jetworx approved procedures.
Additionally, this position assumes a leadership role in technical matters within his/her area; and may perform as an Authorized Inspector for in-process, final inspection and return to service of articles for which they are approved.
Essential Duties
– Carry out tasks assigned by Planner Scheduler and/or the Maintenance Manager
– Assist maintenance Lead Technicians in meeting deadlines and return to service goals by coordinating avionics related activities
– Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the procedures outlined in the applicable Aircraft Maintenance Manual and customers General Maintenance Manual
– Troubleshoots, repairs, test, removes and replaces avionics and instrument wiring and systems installed in various airframes using hand tools, test equipment and technical documents.
Orders necessary parts to complete the job.
Acts as Authorized Inspector as needed.
– Enters description of work completed on the work order and properly documents removal and installation of aircraft parts and components according to approved data and Jetworx approved procedures.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of all technical reference materials needed to perform the job.
– Assists Maintenance Technicians in the resolution of discrepancies in avionics and instrument components and aircraft systems.
Responds to other technical requests from internal and external customers within area of expertise.
Provides OJT to less experienced technicians to ensure technician development and accurate work.
– Accompanies flight crews to perform in-flight troubleshooting and adjustments and performs preflight evaluations of avionics and instrument systems.
– Maintains avionics test equipment and work area as required.
Operates ground support equipment as necessary.
– Attends factory and company technical training and participates in OJT to increase technical skills and proficiency.
Maintains training log and keeps it updated.
– Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety Qualifications
– High school diploma or GED
– Must have own tools necessary for the job
– Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills in the English language
– Have at least 3 years of experience working in a Part 145 environment, Part 135 experience is a plus
– Experience working with Gulfstream, Cessna, Embraer and Bombardier is preferred
– Ability to manage high stress situations, sometimes multiple situations
– Experience in the use of maintenance reference materials including Manufacturer’s Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Component Manuals, etc.
– Experience using CMP and CAMP maintenance tracking programs
– Exceptional customer service skills required
– Must be proficient in the operation of standard office equipment and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
– Drivers License with no major infractions required
– Ability to obtain FAA Repairman Certificate required, A&P License a plus
– Excellent time management and organization skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
