The Senior Civil Estimator will be responsible for providing detailed estimates based upon conceptual documents as well as schematic, design development and construction documents.
They will interface with other estimating disciplines as well as the other members of the Project Team, Business Unit Managers, Project Managers, Subcontractors and Owner Representatives.
They are responsible for all take-offs, pricing and producing the final estimate to be incorporated into the final work product.
Responsibilities:Manage and supervise day-to-day operations of staff teams on assigned projects.Conduct comprehensive pre-bid walks and meetings.Generate take offs, conceptual estimates and detailed estimates for GMP/CM proposals, budgets and negotiated work with limited oversight by others.Generate take offs, conceptual estimates and detailed estimates for GMP/CM proposals, budgets and negotiated work with limited oversight by others.Lead Civil Estimating Effort on projects ranging in size from $15,000 to in excess of $10M in the public and private sectors.Collect craft take-offs, evaluate and pull everything together into a comprehensive proposal.Assemble a comprehensive proposal and present to the client.Conduct pre-construction turnover meetings for all assigned projects.Participate in / lead proposal meetings, post bid conference, Value Engineering efforts.Understand and evaluate project scheduling.Coordinate required procurement of materials and equipment with project management, with emphasis on buyout plan to meet, or improve on, established schedule dates and budget cost.Subcontract agreement negotiation, preparation, processing, and execution.Price, negotiate, and establish vendor relationships.Analyze and manage underlying project risk.Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees.Forecast requirements; analyze variances;initiating corrective actions.Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.Qualifications:Must have experience with all aspects of civil estimating, including Water Main, Storm Sewer Systems, Sanitary Sewer Systems, Concrete Flatwork, Structural Concrete & Interior Slab on Grade,Mass Excavation, Earthwork & Grading, and Selective Demolition.Must have a working knowledge of OST On-Screen Take-off.Must be well organized with strong written and oral communication skills.Must have deductive reasoning, and strong problem solving ability.Bachelor’s Degree or minimum 10 years experience in construction estimating.A& R is an Equal EmploymentOpportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
