Air Products is a world-leading manufacturer of industrial gases and has an immediate opportunity for a FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN in Southern California.The Hydrogen for Mobility Technician is responsible for the maintenance of Air Products’ Hydrogen Fueling equipment and products into the Fuel Cell vehicles (FCV) market.
The Hydrogen for Mobility Technician will be required to gain an understanding of the technical aspects of the H2fM, including, but not limited to, hydrogen production, distribution, storage, and dispensing technology and equipment that serves the market.The successful candidate will be provided with a company truck and tools to service Hydrogen gas systems at our customer sites.
The systems include pressure vessels, vaporizers, flow, level and pressure control instrumentation, dispensers, pumps, PLC, and compressors.
Successful candidate will be responsible to provide necessary technical and hands-on support for maintenance and installation of Hydrogen fueling systems.
Thus, the technician needs to be highly self-motivated, safety-focused, and a good communicator as the role involves direct interface with Air products customers.The starting schedule for this position is from Friday to Tuesday starting at noon, with a rotating after-hours availability with other technicians in the area to provide after-hours urgent service to our customers.
The position also includes short-duration travel within the region and occasional travel to other regions to provide skilled service.The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate extremely high standards of safety performance, while performing activities at customer sites, and driving the company vehicle.
Field Maintenance & Service Technicians areamong those employees with the highest exposure to our customers.
As such, all grade levels of Technicians will present a professional appearance, confidence, and demeanor.Military Personnel are encouraged to apply Experience in military roles as a Machinist Mate, Electricians Mate, Electronic Technician, Aircraft Maintenance or Cryogenic Technician would be well suited for this role.Technical School Graduates are encouraged to apply Degrees in areas of Process or Electrical Technology, Industrial Systems, Electrical Power and Controls, Electromechanical Technology, HVAC would be well suited for this role.Qualifications:Excellent interpersonal skills for interfacing customers.Various administrative functions to support of maintenance history of equipment.Demonstrated and practiced safe work practices and willing to adhere to procedures.Self-motivated and demonstrates leadership and ability to work independently.Requirements:High School Diploma Required; Technical Degree or Military Experience preferredStrong computer skills – Microsoft OfficeMinimum of 3 years mechanical experience.Some electrical experience either via on-the-job training or some type of schooling is a plus.Demonstrate and practice safe handling of tools including power tools typically and commonly used for installation and maintenance tasks.
