Join us, and discover why U.S. News & World Report has named us one of America’s Best Hospitals!As a night shift AGVS Dock Technician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, you will assist with loading AGVS carts on the appropriate tipper and dumping materials into the appropriate container, as well as, operating the biohazrdous trash sterilizer and cardboard bailer. Responsibilities includes maintaining all areas on the AGVS soiled dock. Position will perform various physical tasks, like pushing and pulling case carts, linen, trash, and bio hazardous waste carts, as well as, breaking down boxes, sterilizing carts, clearing pathways for AGVs and documenting productivity and other data queries. Responsible for ensuring that assigned area is maintained to meet quality standards. The AGVS Dock technician is responsible for training teammates, safety, security, and various task as assigned.What’s this role all about?* Works directly with Automated Guided Vehicle System, tippers, trash compactors, cart washers, cardboard bailer, and sterilizers. Takes corrective action when encountering equipment malfunctions. Will notify AGVS Lead Technician and/or Supervisor of malfunctions.* Loads AGVS carts on the appropriate tipper, removes the cart when empty and moves it to the cart washer.* Assures that trash, linen and regulated medical waste are in the correct cart prior to tipping/dumping. Makes any necessary correction to the waste stream.* Monitors AGV traffic in the dock area. Clears any obstruction in the vehicle’s path. Utilizes emergency stop buttons when necessary.* Loads and operates the regulated medical waste sterilizer in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and DHS regulations.* Loads and operates the cardboard bailer in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.* Monitors department equipment and machinery and reports defects. Reports defects in the functionality of all: AGV, Chargers, Sensors, Elevators, Compactors, Tippers, Cart washers, Sterilizers, Carts, and Computers, Radios, Joysticks, and flat beds.* Occasionally interacts with external departments and communicates with AGVS Lead Technician or remedies request if possible.* Assists in providing training to new employees.* Assist other team members when assigned areas are cleared.
