We are now looking for a dynamic and deeply experienced VP of Marketing to lead the overall Marketing function at Company. Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Marketing will drive the overarching marketing strategy, external communications, positioning, and messaging. You will need to make critical decisions across the consumer- and enterprise-facing sides of our business. You must be analytical, strategic, creative, and a terrific builder of teams. You will need to run multiple marketing functions, develop your team(s), and see around the many corners we face as a fast-growing startup. The ideal candidate will have experience standing up full marketing operations inside an early-stage, high-growth tech company.
The role is remote friendly but we prefer candidates in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or close by.
What You’ll Do:
- Brand Marketing. How do we get the Company brand to be known with fans, artists, venues, promotors, etc. How do we talk about our product at large How do we fundamentally introduce a new product, a new behavior to the world
- PR. How do we share our story with consumers, industry, investors, and tech press How can we be seen as thought leaders in audio technology
- Event Marketing. In each venue, each event, we need to get the ball rolling, we need to make sure fans know to download the app and bring headphones, what are the most effective ways to do this We have a two-person team (and growing) focused on this and they will report to you
- Product Marketing / Customer Success. What materials and education do our enterprise clients need to be successful Our listeners
- Artist Relations (Music). Artists are often wary of new technology, especially anything to do with “streaming”. How do we get artists to be comfortable with Company How do we get them to see that this is a better way to connect with fans and bring them closer to the music You will work closely with the sales team on this effort
- Research. How can we better understand our customers and position Company to them
Who You Are:
- 10+ years experience in marketing, with no less than 5+ years leading marketing in a fast-growing company–preferably one that is bringing a novel product/service to market in technology, live events, and/or audio
- Have been responsible for creating overarching marketing strategy, you have strong opinions and learnings from these experiences
- Comfortable creating sophisticated budgets and OKRs and holding yourself and your team accountable
- Ability to understand and tease out insights from data and analytics, an understanding of what tools are necessary to get the data we need
- Experience in performance marketing (i.e. you know the tools and methods for optimizing campaigns with data, split testing, channel optimization, etc.)
- Confidence in being a company spokesperson
- Confidence in overseeing creative processes ensuring outcomes of amazing creative assets that reflect the magic of Company
- Expert manager, effective trainer and coach to your team, you know how to develop talent
- Ability to attract and recruit high-performing marketing team members
- You have a knack for organizational design
- Startup experience is preferred
