Marketing & Events Specialist

Scion Staffing is conducting a search for a Marketing & Events Specialist to join our Portland office The Marketing & Events Specialist is responsible for supporting the marketing and events company wide.

This is a local-remote position with preference to candidates able to work in the greater Portland, Oregon area.

This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing.

It’s paid Up to 3 paid community volunteer days annually Work from home/hybrid schedule – Flexible schedule with options to start between 8:00-9:00 am and end your day at 4:30-5:30 pm Work/life balance and an annual team retreat plus regular team gatherings A friendly and supportive team environment inclusive of everyone Work alongside a diverse staff committed to advancing DEI in the talent acquisition and employment space Responsibilities Support Scion’s Marketing and Events department through various work including Branding, Creative Design, Digital/Social, Project & Content Support & Creation and Event Planning and Support, as well as collaborating across other functions and teams.

Manage the Scion social media accounts and continue to cultivate a following while promoting our open positions and gaining employer interest in partnering with Scion via content on: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

Create and schedule branded social media posts, stories and videos via Canva on a monthly basis to push our brand, vision and mission and engage our followers.

Work with vendors to acquire and maintain Sales swag, inventory and internal promo items.

Coordinate sending sales items to the internal sales team as needed, as well as send out new internal employee swag.

Assist the Director of Marketing with the planning and coordination of internal staff events (such as celebrations, annual parties and retreats, etc.) and external events to leverage Scion’s relationships and networks within the local cities we are in as well as online events.

Book travel, create schedules and work with vendors for events.

Be a day of point of contact for events.

Assist the Director of Marketing and vendor to grow a robust library of videos that serve as a resource for our clients.

Assist the Director of Marketing with writing long form blogs and creating and designing marketing material on an as needed basis.

Grow in the role in responsibilities and interests and utilize your passion in marketing and events to grow our company and position us as a thought leader in the local, state, and national community Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of relevant Communications & Marketing experience.

BA or BS or equivalent experience.

Interest in writing and editing.

Working knowledge of social media and an interest of SEO best practices to build a strong presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

Working knowledge of Canva or other design tools for designing social media posts and stories.

Some experience with event planning and working with vendors is preferred.

Compensation & Career Benefits This position offers a competitive annual base salary of $45,000
– $55,000 dependent on experience and well as a salary review annually Fully paid health, dental, and vision Insurance.
