The Business Development & Marketing Senior (Transactions) will provide strategic guidance and support to practice groups and attorneys within the firm’s preeminent Business Law Department (BLAW), and will manage and execute projects, programs, activities, and processes that support business development and marketing initiatives.
This individual will support the Transactions practice group (TPG) and have a firm understanding of the principles of Private Equity and Securities and Public Companies, as well as play an integral role in the profile-raising development and execution of practice group strategic growth initiatives.
This is a highly collaborative role where short-term projects and long-term strategy meet to provide our practice groups and attorneys with the support they need to generate revenue.+ Work with Senior Manager, Business Development (BLAW) and practice group chairs to develop big-picture strategies for the practice groups under their supervision.
Assist with the creation and execution of practice group business plans+ Serve as a liaison and primary marketing point of contact for attorneys in the assigned practice groups+ Effectively collaborate with all teams within the Business Development and Marketing Department, including Communications, Events, Client Development, RFP/Proposal, Competitive Intelligence, Industry, Branding and Creative Services, and Marketing Systems and Operations, to create and implement practice group marketing projects, facilitate business development efforts, and support client service opportunities+ Create and maintain content for practice group materials including experience profiles, practice descriptions, and related areas on the website; work with attorneys to update and provide language for their bios+ Contribute to the active maintenance, and further improvement of the firm’s experience database as it relates to your designated practices; collect attorney experience and organize it effectively; maintain the records of marketing materials in the internal system+ In conjunction with the RFP Team, support practice group responses for RFP opportunities including development of prospect specific materials.
Lead pitch opportunities, including customization as appropriate.
Track opportunity origination and wins/losses, reporting developments regularly.+ In partnership with the Lateral Integration Team, lead BD efforts associated with lateral partner plans including strategizing and prioritizing tactics for outreach to existing and prospective clients, working with the partner to refine their independent value proposition within the firm, executing on the plan, and providing status reports of plan developments+ Considering ROI, identify, strategize, plan, and manage industry-related programs and receptions for clients and prospective clients; oversee and manage invitations, mailing lists, materials, speakers, visual presentations, and follow-up+ Utilize competitive intelligence to identify industry trends and research pursuits; identify client targets and cross-selling opportunities.
