Summary:

The Tool Crib Attendant purchases, receives, stores, and issues tooling, equipment, and other items from tool crib. Compiles and maintains and stock records.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Purchase, equipment, tools, or supplies necessary for the operation of an establishment.
  • Implement procedures to improve Tool Crib process
  • Purchase new or additional stock.
  • Perform regular inventory management responsibilities such as cycle counts, spot buys and product sourcing.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, and goods used or issued.
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving the inventory into the tool crib.
  • Track shipments and follow up undelivered goods. If vendors have reoccurring deliver delays or undelivered goods source out new vendors.
  • Review catalogs, Customer sites, and consult with other department personnel to locate necessary goods and services.
  • Compile, review, and maintain data from requisitions and other documents in order to assess supply needs.
  • Issue or distribute tooling and supplies to coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in tool crib, or supply room.
  • Dispose of damaged or defective items or return them to vendors.
  • Receive and count items, and record data manually or using computer.
  • Create Tool Kits based on upcoming jobs list
  • Monitor job charging records.
  • Work cooperatively with Manufacturing Management, Staff and Human Resources to train and make corrections as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years in manufacturing environment (preferably machining)
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong computer skills and experience using an ERP system a plus
  • Industry knowledge desired; machining or tooling background a plus

Working conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing / machine shop environment.
  • Some heavy lifting may be required.

Compensation range for onsite CA applicants is $22.00 – $30.00. Other site ranges may differ.
