We are currently searching for a Sr.
Financial Analyst to be based out of Harvey, IL.
Reporting to the SBU Controller, the Sr.
Financial Analyst will support the Steel Conduit and ECN Strategic Business Unit (SBU) which is part of the Electrical Business Unit and will make an impact within an organization that offers a broad range of opportunities and a solid commitment to career development.
This individual will work directly with the VP / General Manager to support the business in all aspects of planning, forecasting, reporting, and business decision support.
Performs planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities in timely and accurate manner.
Develops useful, consistent, and recurring reporting and metrics that provides management with the insight needed to make sound business decisions.
Coordinates monthly / quarterly forecast cycle ensuring sound assumptions are factored into the SBU
– financial projections.
Works with other functions to collect necessary inputs.
Provides weekly updates on performance to targets from a financial and pricing perspective.
Ownership of the monthly SBU review cycle including collection, preparation, and review of all required documentation.
Provide sound financial analysis and develop financial tools and models to support decision making within the business.
Prepares financial reports and statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system, consolidation and reporting system, and various subsystems in use at Atkore.
Analyze results and report variances against budget and expectations.
Recommend corrective actions as indicated by performance to meet P-amp;L and working capital targets.
Partner with broader financial team to facilitate standardization of financial reporting, planning, and analysis across the Strategic Business Units.
Assist in developing and leading the business to achieve performance targets and key performance metrics including cash flow and working capital.
Partners with / or leads the broader SBU team on projects and process improvements.
Provide analytical and reporting support at product-line and customer level.
Conduct analysis on price performance and gross margin.
Works cross functionally with SBU accounting, planning, product management, supply chain, and customer service on all finance related matters.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to : Understanding and compliance with Atkore policies for accounting and internal controls.
Other duties as assigned Qualifications include: Bachelors Degree in finance or accounting.
MBA or CPA is a plus.
Minimum 7
– 10 years experience in finance and accounting with a focus on financial analysis.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Proven ability to participate and lead cross functional projects and initiatives.
Proficient knowledge of MS Office with expert level Excel skills.
Tableau experience a plus.
Experience with JDE and HFM / Essbase is preferred.
Solid understanding of US GAAP required.
Capacity to perform at a high level in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
