Medix is seeking a passionate and dedicated Psychiatric Social Worker (ACSW/AMFT) to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to provide vital outpatient services to adults and contribute to their well-being under the clinical supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Position Summary:

As a Psychiatric Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in the coordination and implementation of service plans for your assigned caseload of adult clients within our outpatient program. You will utilize your strong social work knowledge of family and community resources to provide effective and client-centered care.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual, conjoint, and/or family therapy sessions with assigned clients.
  • Collaborate with program staff in the development and implementation of comprehensive coordination and service plans.
  • Participate in the review process to ensure clients achieve full engagement in their treatment.
  • Ensure continuity of care for clients.
  • Take responsibility for discharge planning processes.
  • Actively participate in in-service training opportunities.
  • Provide coverage for other primary therapists within the agency as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all client-related matters.
  • Cooperate with agency fundraising initiatives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse cultural and ethnic populations.
  • Uphold the agency’s philosophy, goals, and objectives with loyalty and commitment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records, prepare necessary reports, and facilitate appropriate referrals.
  • Serve as a liaison with other departments to enhance communication and client referrals.
  • Monitor client satisfaction with services on a regular basis.
  • Refer clients to external agencies when appropriate to meet their needs.
  • Adhere to all standards of clinical social work practice, including meticulous record-keeping and confidentiality protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Clinical Psychology from an accredited college.
  • Valid registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (ACSW, AMFT) or license eligible.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a psychiatric facility working with individuals with persistent and severe mental illness preferred.
  • Demonstrated physical and emotional stability, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Essential: Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Any Associate Clinician that works in FSP will be able to confidently go into any other style role down the line based on the severity of the population.

Schedule/Shift

  • Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5pm (30 minute lunch)
