Arcosa Lightweight is searching for a Senior Production Worker for our 24/7 Streetman, TX plant.
In this role you will support a positive safety culture by directing the activities and staff within an aggregate environment that is regulated by MSHA safety standards.
As a Senior Production Worker, you will be part of a production team to make our products.
Arcosa Lightweight is a leading producer and distributor in the Western and Southwestern U.S.
of lightweight and natural aggregates, including expanded shale and clay, crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt rock, and other products.
What You’ll Do:
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations
• Perform all tasks in a safe manner which includes wearing proper personal protective equipment and follow safetyregulations established by this company
• Maintain the bowl mill and cooler area
• Perform all necessary work area inspections and document discrepancies including any heavy equipment checklist/inspections
• Run clinker pile and spec material clay shed via front end loader
• Close off spec doors to coolers
• Haul stack dust once a shift
• Remove logs from cooler
• Maintain Oil bowl mills
• Fill and maintain coal hopper
• Maintain reversible belt
• Keep water level pumped down at eight belt
• Run clinkers for the screening and crushing department
• Grease and inspect crusher screens in finishing plant
• Help clay feed attendant to keep clay chopped in clay shed
• Run sweeper to keep concrete clean, washing of scrubber slabs
• Assist in turning and replacement of hammers in crusher
• Drive dump truck during clean up of spillage in plant
• Maintain the operation of the cooler reversible belts which includes keeping tail pulleys clean and keeping water on beltswhen needed
• Maintain the operation of the coal mills which include maintaining proper oil levels, water circulation through coal mills,grease appropriate areas when needed and keeping coal area clean
• Maintain the operation of cooler drives and keep area around the coolers clean
• Keep tail pulley and catwalk cleaned on stockpile belts
• Remove clinkers from cooler pits and stack in designated areas
• Keep all above areas clean
• Grease equipment in all areas of production
• Perform other duties as required Qualifications and/or Requirements
• Loader experience helpful
• General understanding of good manufacturing practices, including machine set up and start up and ability to identify and resolve basic processing issues.
• Ability to properly use hand tools.
• Basic math skills and use of calculator.
• Not required but beneficial – knowledge of blending, fluid bed dryer operation, sieving and granulation processes
• Passing Drug & Physical Testing and Background check
• Mine Safety Training (MSHA) – will train upon hire.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
• Regularly sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing.
Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Frequent use of hands and arms.
Requires ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.
Occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, ascending and descending stairs or ladders.
Work Environment
• This job is performed in the open pit mine and crushing plant in a mining and production environment.
While performing job duties there is regular exposure to moderate to loud noise levels, fine dust, vibration and moving mechanical parts.
