The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Associate or Experienced) located in El Segundo, CA.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies. Participates as a member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the integration of technical solutions.

  • Works with others to develop, identify and implement conceptual designs and maintenance of the program architecture for build.

  • Assists in implementing manufacturing plans.

  • Resolves technical problems and assists in the implementation of new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.

  • Assists in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies. Interfaces with professional associations, suppliers, IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experience.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate or Experienced Manufacturing Engineers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI  U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 1+ years of experience in microelectronics assembly materials, processes, and techniques.

  • 1+ years of experience with 3D modeling, 2D drawings and drawing packages.

  • 1+ years of experience with statistical analysis and process control, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) utilizing six sigma techniques, and familiarization of AS9100 standards.

  • 1+ years of experience leading a multidisciplinary team in implementing a new product, process improvement, or material improvement.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2 or more years flip chip, thermocompression bonding.

  • Experience working and/or designing of robotics and automation.

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Salary Range:

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range (Level 2): $80,750 – $109,250

Summary pay range (Level )3: $96,050 – $129,950
