The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Electrical/Electronics Manufacturing Engineer (Experienced, Lead or Senior) located in El Segundo, CA.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies.

  • Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.

  • Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build.

  • Leads and implements manufacturing plans.

  • Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.

  • Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices.

  • Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.

  • Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.

  • Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.

  • Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems. Implements lean principles and technologies.

  • 20% travel required.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced, Lead or Senior Level Electrical/Electronics Manufacturing Engineer.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 3+ years of experience in process improvement utilizing formal, systematic tools such as Root Cause and Corrective Action, Lean improvement techniques or Six Sigma: example reducing product cost, improving quality, improving delivery, reduce cycle time, increase employee and customer satisfaction.

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment.

  • 3+ years of experience taking data and deriving meaningful information through analysis and data visualization.

  • 3+ years of experience with circuit card and/or electronics manufacturing.

  • Ability to travel 20% of the time (approximately once a month).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3+ years of experience with engineering and design software (i.e. CAD/3D packages (UG/NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.).

  • Experience with space or military electronics.

Typical Education/Experience:

Experienced (Level 3):            

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 5):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation is available for internal candidates based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range (Experienced/Level 3): $96,050 – $129,950

Summary pay range (Lead/Level 4): $117,300 – $158,700

Summary pay range (Senior/Level 5): $142,800- $193,200
