Harbor Freight Tools USA, Inc.: Forecasting Analyst – Remote

The Business Analyst studies historical sales trends, evaluates upcoming advertising plans, and incorporates factors such as new stores and seasonal factors to determine the best forecast for their assigned items.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop forecasts for all assigned items using combination of statistical forecasting methods and business intelligenceBuilds transitions plansPartner with Category Teams in discussion of business plansUnderstands inventory flow life cycleResearch forecast error reports to identify items that need forecast adjustmentsDevelop new metrics and reports to track forecast accuracy and sales trendsCollaborate with key players to build and monitor forecasts for new itemsAnalyze impacts of advertising, new item introduction, price elasticity, etc… on an items sale ratePrepare item summaries for executive review on sales and forecast patternsAdditional Duties as assigned by managementRegular Attendance is requiredScope:Staff supervision and Development –NoDecision Making – Provides data for decision support, Provides consultation or expert adviceTravel – NALocation –RequirementsJob Qualifications –Education and Experience (Preferred)Bachelor’s Degree preferred2 3 years Inventory, Forecasting, or retail management experience preferredJob Qualifications-Skills (Required)Comfortable with large data setsProven track record as a decision makerTeamwork and Leadership skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsManage and prioritize workload to meet deadlinesProficient in Microsoft ApplicationsPhysical RequirementsGeneral office environment requiring ability to:stand, walk, sit for extended periods of timespeak and listen to others in person and over the phoneuse keyboard and read from computer screen and reportslift up to 15 lbs.#LI-RR1About Harbor Freight ToolsIn 1977, Harbor Freight Tools was started as a small family-owned business.
