After that time, you must update your application through your USAJobs account if you would like to be made active again for possible consideration during the open period.Duties include, but not limited to:* Delivering meals, which may include hot foods and liquids, to patients’ bedsides or patrons.* Setting up cafeteria lines and/or steam-tables with hot and cold food items.* Portioning food items into standard serving sizes using the proper utensils and containers.* Assembling and tossing fresh fruit or green salads in large quantities for public consumption.* Sweeping and mopping floors repetitively in high traffic areas such as corridors, entry ways, cafeterias and other areas.* Standing/walking to clear tables and carrying trays of heavy dishes for several hours or more at a time.* Loading and operating a continuous conveyor belt feeding dishwasher.* Performing heavy duty cleaning tasks such as ceilings and/or exhaust hoods.* Scouring and scrubbing heavy cooking utensils such as mixing bowls and pots.* Applying sanitation principles to safeguard food against spoilage and waste.* Adhering to safety policies and procedures when performing manual work involving lifting, carrying, transporting and delivering food or other items.Work Schedule: Various Full time and Part time shifts & tours of duty to include weekends and holidays as needed.Position Description Title/PD#: Food Service Worker/PD11090A, PD03061A, PD11387A, PD10228A, PD05470A, PD11108A, PD99920A, PD050250, PD095390, and PD046900Physical Requirements: Food Service Worker (FSW) requiring continual standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, and bending. May also be required to work for long periods using repetitive motion, especially in the Sanitation and Tray line areas. The FSW frequently lifts or moves objects and pushes/pulls weighing (or requiring the force of) up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lifts or moves objects weighing over 40 pounds with the assistance of other workers. May be required to perform heavy work, such as scouring and scrubbing pots, pans or other food service equipment. The FSW working in the Ingredient Control unit will push heavy carts and trucks during unloading, storing, and delivering food and supplies. and will regularly lift or move objects over 40 pounds with the assistance of pallet jacks or other workers. To minimize the risk of work-related injury, the FSW adheres to sate, ergonomic work practices, including bending at knees to lit), pushing (not pulling) carts or other equipment, using appropriate PPEs, and following all established safety standards.Promotion Potential: The selectee MUST apply to next higher grade level in order to be promoted.
