Automotive Worker w/CDL

Job Summary: Amentum is seeking an Automotive Worker w/CDL for PREPO Maintenance on Fort Polk, LA.

The Automotive Worker performs a variety of minor repairs and services to maintain motor vehicles duties that require an understanding of simple vehicle maintenance.

Places and maintains decals on vehicles, checks and replaces batteries, rotates, repairs, and replaces tires, washes, polishes, and cleans interiors and exteriors of vehicles, drains, flushes, and replaces engine, transmission, and differential grease and oils, checks, cleans, calibrates, and replaces spark plugs, cleans and replaces oil and air filters.Adjusts brakes, replaces windshield wipers, and similar minor parts, assists on major overhaul jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, repairing components such as generators and water pumps, and replacing thermostats, points, electrical wiring and other items, maintains tools and equipment, and cleans work areas.Performs all work in accordance to the applicable Technical Manual for the vehicle and work assigned.Must be able recognize and know proper usage of a variety of automotive tools.Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements: Must be US Citizen or Permanent Legal ResidentHigh school diploma or equivalent.One or more years’ experience and specific knowledge in vehicle maintenance either through schooling or verifiable on the job experience.Must have or be able to obtain site forklift and other licenses/certifications.Must have a valid and current state commercial driver’s license.Must understand and be able to use Technical Manuals.Must be able to complete paperwork associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs.Ability to manipulate and use hand tools and hydraulic equipmentAbility to work in a team environment Preferred Qualifications: Maintenance and repair of military tactical vehicles, as well as, lawn mower (push, riding, zero turn), ATV, side by side, HMMWV, light wheeled trailersASE and/or Diesel Mechanic CertificationsExperience in field repairs and recovery
