Associate – Digital Manufacturing, Implementation

You’ll based in one of our offices in North America and will be working with McKinsey Implementation (MI) – a rapidly growing capability for our firm. As a member of MI, you’ll work in a collaborative culture, working closely with our client project teams solving their toughest problems, providing end-to-end support to ensure the clients are able to deliver and sustain the full benefits of McKinsey’s recommended change in their business.You will help clients think through how to adapt their operations in response to the continuing growth of advanced manufacturing technologies, including digital manufacturing.You’ll leverage your deep knowledge and expertise in the application of advanced manufacturing technology, including digital and big data, to improve end-to-end operations from product development to manufacturing to service.You will work in small teams with colleagues and clients to build the strategies, capabilities, systems and processes needed to deliver bottom line results and ensure those results are sustained.In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful, hands-on contribution by managing projects and progress with minimal supervision, including tracking metrics, handling complex analyses, and preparing communications to report back to client and internal leadership. You will develop trust-based relationships with clients and be seen as a specialist in implementation and delivering results.You will help clients define their target IT/OT technology stack, in order to enable the data, information flows, and analytics for their digital manufacturing transformation. Lastly, you will also help companies assess their current technologies and platforms, and define their go-forward stack strategies (e.g., which platforms to implement, and how to work with vendors).* BA/BS in Engineering (advanced degree preferred)* 3+ years hands-on experience in a high performance manufacturing environment with proven track record of driving performance improvement and change management programs* Leadership experience in digital strategy deployment and use of automation in world class production facilities* Knowledge required of industrial control systems (SCADA, DCS, PLC and/or other process control systems) as well as manufacturing execution systems, data historians, analytics or business intelligence (BI) tools* Demonstrated ability to develop and apply information-driven analytic approaches to solve critical business questions in a practical manner with tangible results* Superior problem solving and analytical skills* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment* Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively* Comfort with extensive travel (4-5 days/week)
