Warehouse Associate

Receives, stores, picks and distributes material, and products

Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.

Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets.

Marks materials with identifying information.

Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

Weighs or counts items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.

Uses computer to enter records.

Drives material handling equipment to transport stored items within the warehouse.

Prepares parcels for mailing.

Loads and unloads trailers of palletized product.

Utilizes manual and automated material handling equipment.

Accurately pulls customer orders and loads them onto trailers in a neat and safe manner.

Places product onto pallets in a way that nothing shifts in transit.

Prepares and takes inventory of all merchandize; records counts on inventory sheets.

Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection; keeps work area clean; stores supplies in designated areas; keeps work area aisles/exits clear and free from obstructions; removes trash from work area floor; follows instructions for safe lifting/carrying of various sizes, shapes, and weights; identifies/reports defective equipment; reports all job-related injuries to supervision.

Cleans inside and outside of warehouse building.
Job Requirements:

 
• Forklift operation and food distribution experience preferred

 
• Must be able to get along well with others.

 
• Must enjoy working in a fast pace warehouse.

 
• High school diploma required.

 
• Related experience and/or training preferred.

 
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer orders, shipping and receiving paperwork, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

 
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively to customers, third party drivers, other visitors and employees of organization.

 
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
