They will be responsible for conducting proactive and reactive research and collaborating with key stakeholders using advanced strategies that support a large state-wide fundraising operation.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe Prospect Researcher will work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the team by developing and implementing tactics in all areas related to prospect research.

Primarily through prospect identification, sphere of influence analysis, and prospect research, they will create donor profiles and uncover existing and new donors and prospects critical to funding the organization’s highest state-wide and global priorities.

They must also be able to distill and convey information in a targeted and compelling way for Development leadership and other Chapter executives.

The ability to analyze and prioritize donor pools and map donor characteristics and interests to Conservancy priorities is required.

The Prospect Researcher will work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the team by developing and implementing tactics for approved plans and completing and organizing multiple tasks and activities.

They will identify individual priorities based on the needs of the program.

They will manage, track, and report on key data related to the team scope and priorities, which may include donor or gift information.

They will have substantial contact with stakeholders and may serve as the lead liaison with partners.

They take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team, such duties may include, but are not limited to, a more significant role in training, developing documentation, and/or enhancing the systems and tools used by the team.

The Prospect Researcher must have advanced knowledge of the systems and resources utilized by the team to provide programmatic support and coordinate communications related to the resources.

The Prospect Researcher will keep up to date on market trends and best practices to improve services.

They will adapt processes and implement recommended practices to improve effectiveness based on their in-depth understanding of related policies and procedures.RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE* Act independently within broad program goals to prioritize tasks in the absence of specific instructions and exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems.* Does not supervise any staff but may manage work of peers on departmental project teams.* Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information.* Provide centralized support to all fundraisers.* Partner with Worldwide Office Prospect Development staff to ensure that prospect research on California suspects and prospects is accomplished in a synchronized and strategic manner.* Ensure compliance with TNC policies and procedures, and external (donor/legal/IRS) requirements.* Financial responsibility includes working within a budget, processing invoices and transfers, and negotiating and contracting with vendors.* Manage projects with several variables, set realistic deadlines, manage a timeline, and ensure accountability.* Provide input through project teams for the development and implementation of new initiatives or the improvement of existing programs.* Travel and work overtime as needed.* Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.* Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines.* Work within scope of program’s strategic goals.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.* Experience generating reports and analyzing and interpreting data.* Experience working across departments and with cross-functional teams.* Experience with current technology in prospect research.* Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of prospect research and prospect management.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS* Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience are appreciated.* Ability to implement complex processes.* Ability to use existing technology to achieve desired results.* Demonstrated experience using diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate staff.* Ability to work with others in a collaborative or advisory role.* Ability to determine a prospect’s interests, capacity and potential for making gifts of $100K or more.* Experience interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results.* Experience with donor databases.* Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles and practices.* Knowledge of current trends in prospect research, wealth analysis and business, preferably in a non-profit environment.* Strong organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.* Successful experience implementing strategic program goalsSALARY INFORMATIONJob Family: DevelopmentJob Number: 700034Salary Grade: 6Salary Range: $61,000 $78,000 per year depending on locationAPPLY NOWTo apply for job ID 50022, submit your materials online by using the Apply Now button at https://careers.Nature.Org/ by July 27, 2021 at 8:59 p.M.
