Job Description: Calculates and records storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges.
May reroute urgent shipments of an urgent nature or arrange for special delivery at destination.
Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments.
Receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents.
Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
Lifts heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc.
upon receipt of internal certification.
Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
May perform wood shop functions such as operating power saws and nail guns in building skids and crates.
Receives checks for damage, unpacks, and verifies incoming items against purchase orders to ensure that correct items and quantities have been delivered.
Identifies and communicates discrepancies to Quality.
Performs computer transactions and generates documents utilizing the ERP system.
Upon receipt of finished goods maintains awareness of handling procedures and verifies and accuracy of serial and part numbers.
Packages product per contract requirements utilizing procedures.
Generates and applies unit and outer container labels as required by contract.
Processes shipping labels via automated FedEx and UPS systems or manual bills of lading.
Requires expertise in MRP systems relative to Shipping and Receiving.
Operates forklift and company vehicles as required.
Performs daily vehicle inspections, maintains fuel levels and advises on potential issues.
Provides material handling support to Government Property Administrator.
Job Requirements: Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma and/or a minimum of six years of related experience in Shipping and Receiving including data entry into an ERP system.
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Able to lift 70 pound close to the body and 50 pounds repetitively.
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
Experience using Costpoint ERP system (preferred)
