In this Senior Product Researcher role, you will be responsible for defining, leading, analyzing, and socializing research studies to better understand creators, both internal and external, around the world and what types of processes, technology, and workflow pipelines will help produce efficient outcomes for NAS.
The cross-functional teams you’ll work with are nimble, dynamic, and collaborative.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Partner with Business Leaders, Product Management, Designers, and Data Scientists to create a competitive advantage for Netflix Engage internal and external partners worldwide to uncover pain points, unmet needs, or workarounds that inspire innovations that support pre-production, production, and delivery for Netflix Animation Studio Identify opportunities to establish new points-of-views on trends and insights and develop new capabilities that evolve our emerging enterprise research function Partner with subject matter experts and cross functional partners, taking a systems-level view, to craft research recommendations and synthesize workflow needs and user insights Serve as a partner for a growing design practice center, advising your colleagues on methodologies and best practices in implementing their own evaluative research Define and facilitate design thinking workshops to foster cross-functional collaboration, action your research, and inform experiences that reflect a clearly defined problem Influence product decisions by encouraging creative thinking that creates major movement or shifts our direction, preventing us from making uninformed decisions or wasting resources, and improving the studio experience for our in-house and external partners
Types of Projects You Will Lead:
Identify ways to optimize creators’ end-to-end workflows, including use of our in-house and 3rd party tools Identify best ways to communicate with users and influence business, product, and design decisions Evaluate users’ motivations and unmet needs to inform product roadmaps across a suite of tools and capabilities Assess opportunities for Netflix Animation Studio to innovate, grow and differentiate around the world
The Ideal Background:
7+ years leading qualitative/quantitative research supporting product innovation or development such as ethnographic, UX/Product, or design research Experience in auditing systems and workflows a plus Clear, demonstrable experience as a product researcher or similar role, on a complex B2B workflow or enterprise tool suite with a proven record of seeing products from concept to delivery Effective verbal and written communication style distilling complex multi-method research reports into understandable, compelling, and actionable insights Experience in or passion for the animation industry a plus Ability to frequently travel between Los Angeles and Los Gatos to meet with stakeholders
