Key Accountabilities
Individual will be based in Los Angeles and responsible for sourcing and executing transactions in the western United States.

Target markets include as Los Angeles, Bay Area, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, and Phoenix.

The successful candidate will be expected to source quality, versus quantity, deals and participate in corporate deals.

They will deploy capital from the Brookfield flagship global opportunity fund, the open-ended Core-Plus fund, and other capital sleeves available to Brookfield.


Primary Functions And Responsibilities Will Include
Build and maintain strong relationships, both directly and with brokers in the region; able to effectively source transactions.

Drive acquisitions in the region by critically evaluating the merits and risks of the investment through the analysis of financial metrics, models, and sensitivities.

Identify and understand a project’s market positioning; gather market information through independent field work and direct contact with brokers, appraisers, and developers.

Synthesize information and draw a conclusion on the business plan.

Assess and critically evaluate the existing and potential operating characteristics of a potential acquisition target, as well as the physical attributes of a site, including through conversations with market participants, brokers, lenders, joint venture partners, and others.

Supervise and participate in the due diligence investigation of new investment opportunities, including coordination with third parties.

Prepare a comprehensive investment submission; communicate conclusions and investment risk in a narrative presentation to senior management, including approval through participation in the Investment Committee.

Structure and execute purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, and other transaction documents while building relationships with joint venture partners.

Work with the transaction team to find and execute on financings, including negotiation of term sheets, loan agreements, guaranties, and other loan documents.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be an acquisitions professional with the ability to source and execute industrial transactions under the scrutiny of a private equity environment.
Experience in Los Angeles and/or the other above-referenced markets with relationships to source off-market transactions.

The experience and gravitas to manage internal and external constituencies.

The ability to participate in complex corporate transactions.

Intelligence, forward thinking approach, and low ego needs; maintains high engagement.

From a cultural-fit perspective, this person must be highly collaborative by nature and willing to roll up their sleeves to drive the business.

They will ideally have a patient and strategic orientation and an ability to defend their position in a well-reasoned, articulate fashion.
