Job Description – Research Technician

Nuanced Health is hiring a talented research technician to help execute our paradigm-shifting gnotobiotic platform for preclinical therapeutic discovery.

You should have an interest in working with germ-free mouse models of disease and performing various downstream tissue preparations and biological assays.

You should be motivated to learn about current workflows of microbiome research, working both with mice and in the wet lab.

We are currently looking for individuals willing to commit to full-time work with hourly pay.

Responsibilities

1.

Manage breeding and husbandry of laboratory mice in flexible film isolators and individually ventilated cages

2.

Ensure animal health and compliance with internal governing bodies (IACUC and IBC)

3.

Purify and prepare primary cells from tissues for downstream analysis (i.e, flow cytometry, single cell multi-omics etc.) and culture-based assays (i.e., ELISA)

4.

Isolate, select, and grow bacterial strains, preparing them for analysis

5.

Document experimental procedures in a digital lab notebook, perform basic data analysis, and manage inventory of animals and biological samples

6.

Collaborate closely with R&D scientists to enable and assist in downstream mouse and in vitro experiments

Skills and Qualifications

1.

Completed a BS or MS in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, immunology, animal science, or a related biomedical field

2.

Two to three years of rodent vivarium operation experience, ALAT, LAT and LATG certification highly preferable

3.

Or two to three years of in vivo rodent research experience

4.

Enthusiastic about animal research and therapeutic development

5.

Experience with or interest in various mouse-related procedural techniques (handling and restraint, food and bedding maintenance.

etc.)

6.

Eagerness to learn quickly and integrate into the research team

7.

Detail oriented, organized, meticulous work documentation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00
– $25.00 per hour
